The FSOSW conference planning committee is pleased to announce a call for abstracts for presentations during its 42nd annual conference, which will be held in Boca Raton, Florida, from September 12-14, 2025. We invite psychosocial oncology practitioners from all disciplines to submit abstracts for the conference entitled:
"Oncology Social Work: Critical Pieces of the Puzzle"
This year's conference is designed for social work professionals and healthcare providers dedicated to enhancing the psychosocial support of individuals and families navigating the complexities of cancer. Our aim is to equip attendees with the latest knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to address the diverse needs of cancer patients throughout their journey, from diagnosis to survivorship or end-of-life care. We will focus on advocacy, support, education, and research, empowering oncology social workers with the tools they need to excel in their roles.

Conference Objectives:
Enhance Proficiency in Psychosocial Assessment and Intervention: Participants will gain practical skills in utilizing evidence-based practices to assess and address the emotional, social, and spiritual needs of cancer patients and their families.
Improve Navigation of the Healthcare System for Cancer Patients: Attendees will develop strategies to overcome barriers to care, including financial toxicity and healthcare disparities, through enhanced patient advocacy, care coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Advance Culturally Appropriate and Equitable Care for Diverse Cancer Populations: Participants will learn to address the unique needs of specific populations, such as pediatric, geriatric, and culturally diverse patients, promoting equitable access to care.
- Foster Ethical Practice and Professional Resilience in Oncology Social Work: Attendees will explore ethical dilemmas, examine emerging trends like telehealth, and develop strategies for self-care and resilience to enhance their professional practice.
Through original research presentations and workshops, the conference will provide opportunities for practitioners and scientists to share their work at all levels of social work practice: micro, macro, and policy.
